Historical Landscape Ecology and Landscape Archaeology

Bridging Historical Landscape Ecology and Landscape Archaeology – Call for Papers

IHOPE, along with IALA and IALE, is organizing a session at the Landscape Archaeology Conference 2024 (LAC 2024). We now invite you to submit your abstracts to contribute to the session by February 19th, 2024. The topic is: Bridging historical landscape ecology and landscape archaeology: common questions and challenges in a rapidly changing world.

The session aims to bring together landscape ecologists and landscape archaeologists so they can learn from each other’s working methods, as well as emphasize how landscape archaeology and landscape ecology can contribute to current approaches to landscape management by highlighting past historically relevant research on the topic. Papers that provide insight on how historical landscape management has affected changes on the landscape and how knowledge of the past can be used to model and plan sustainable futures are particularly encouraged.

The full abstract for Session 17 – Bridging Historical Landscape Ecology and Landscape Archaeology – can be read here.

Abstracts can be submitted here.

LAC 2024 will be held in Alcalá de Henares (Madrid, Spain) from June 10th -14th, 2024.
