UNESCO Perspectives – Cultural Pasts, Urban Futures

Join the conference, UNESCO Perspectives: Cultural Pasts, Urban Futures, will take place July 6–8, 2027 at the University of Porto in Porto. The conference is organized by AMPS in collaboration with the University of Porto and IPCA, exploring interdisciplinary approaches to heritage, archaeology, conservation, digital heritage, cultural memory, museums, tourism, sustainability, and urban futures. The conference engagess researchers interested in questions of cultural landscapes, heritage preservation, digital methods, community engagement, and the politics of memory. The conference also emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration across the humanities, social sciences, design, technology, and heritage sectors. Topics include digital heritage and AI, archaeology and conservation, museums and archives, sustainability, socio-cultural heritage, and heritage futures.
